Starfish in Progress

Starfish, by Fig Tree & Co., is on the wall — in pieces, and that’s exactly where it should be right now.

The units are made. Sixteen fabrics in all: six reds, five blues, five pinks. They’ve been pressed open — open is best for this many seams.

Then they went up on the design wall, just as pieces, not sewn together into blocks yet. Sixteen stars in a four-by-four layout, so I can see how the reds, blues, and pinks play against each other before anything gets committed. There’s a layout rearrangement in my head still — this is the preview, not the final setting.

Next up: pattern Step 6, and actually sewing those pieces into blocks.

That’s the whole update. No finish yet, no fuss — just a wall full of stars waiting their turn.
